Help the Kurias replace their van!

In 2008, I met a woman named Njoki. Then, I met her husband, Thomas. My life, Doug's life, and the life of our children are deeply connected to them and their girls. They have spoken life, depth and truth into our lives, bringing beauty, healing, and hope. They are hard-working and faithful. They are our people. Their girls call us "Auntie" and "Uncle."
Last week, I saw "Njoki" pop up on my phone as I was leaving to pick my kids up from school. I figured one of their cars had broken down again, and she needed me to get her girls. When I answered, the panic in her voice made me realize that this was more. In their effort to pick up their girls early due to the roads icing, they had just been in a collision. Njoki was stuck in her van. Thomas had managed to get out and was already helping someone else. They had collided with the vehicle of a woman who had crashed just before them. He had managed to get that woman unstuck from her car and off the road, while Mama Njoki immediately tended to the well-being of their girls.
Thankfully, everyone was ok. Traumatized and freezing, but ok.
Their van, already in its third life and yet the better of their 2 vehicles, was totaled.
This family needs reliable vehicles. They are our people. As followers of Christ, Doug and I believe we are to share everything with one another. Many of you know and love Thomas, Njoki, Rehema, and Gakenia. Many of you have been prayed for by Njoki. Their presence and their love have blessed you. We humbly ask you to join us in raising funds to have the safe and reliable transportation they need to continue building a life for their girls.
