There is a local family that is going to need our assistance. Whether it being by simply keeping them in your thoughts and prayers, or by sending a monetary donation, we are asking for your help.
Joe has been a volunteer baseball & football coach for the last 9 years and is active in 4-H. He is also a 2nd generation volunteer firefighter and has been on Tecumseh Fire for the last 25 years. Jennifer is also a volunteer in our community by coaching baseball & basketball. She enjoys helping the local 4-H community as well. Kolby is an honor rolls student while participating in baseball, 4h, trap, basketball, football, golf, & wrestling. He enjoys showing cattle, horses, & now pigs at the county fair. Kolby always enjoys volunteering when he can & can almost always be seen with a smile on his face. The entire family takes great joy in helping people when they can & volunteering when needed.
Joe has been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and just went through his 4th surgery one month ago. He is still recovering. Being a typical teenage boy, Kolby had a freak accident early Sunday morning. He fell 20 ft onto a concrete pad & had to be life flighted to UNMC in Omaha. He is suffering from a wrist fracture, pelvic fracture, S6 fracture, facial fracture, & multiple brain bleeds but those have been confirmed that they were from a severe concussion and will undergo traumatic brain injury protocols as we pray that is all he will need. He has a long road of recovery ahead. Currently he is off the breathing tube, out of sedation, responding to all stimuli and communicating.
The family is very thankful for the efforts of his friend in running for help. If it wasn't for him, Kolby would no longer be with us. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department, Tecumseh Fire Department, Tecumseh Rescue Squad and Life Flight played an extremely important roles in this rescue effort, are the family is eternally grateful for the entire teams' response and knowledge. They all went way above and beyond what others may have done.
