Help the Kuhars through George's illness

George and Bridget Kuhar are much loved musicians based in Juneau, Alaska. George fronts the band Playboy Spaceman, joined by Bridget, as well as Jason Messing, Nick Wagner and Simon Taylor. They are known for their annual (until COVID) Skull Party, as well as other performances, including George’s gift of a free solo concert every year on his birthday.
Over the past several months, George's health began mysteriously declining. Every obvious cause was ruled out, then even many obscure causes were ruled out through extensive testing, poking, prodding and imaging. George and Bridget have flown back and forth between home, in Juneau, and Seattle, where they are now and will remain through at least June of 2021.
Recently, diagnostic imaging pointed to a possible cause for George's mysterious symptoms: a neurologist found swelling and abnormalities deep within the brain which may have been caused by the anti-rejection medication George takes for his kidney transplant (did you know that Bridget donated a kidney to George early in their love story?). Changing transplant medications is risky and George needs to be monitored.
Although much diagnostic uncertainty remains, and many test results are pending, the good news is they have a promising theory and may have found the cause and a way to reverse the swelling! George's health has already shown some improvement, and there is reason to be optimistic. The bad news is both George and Bridget are unable to work during this time and must cover insurance premiums, lodging, transportation, food, incidentals and more. That's why we need your help.
We set an initial goal of $5,000 and we blew past it in a matter of hours (Bridget says: "Holy moly!")!
We surpassed our second goal of $7,500. Wow! We're now reaching for our stretch goal of $10,000.

$1,300 Insurance premium May
$1,300 Insurance premium June
$1,400 toward lodging costs for June (George’s mom has helped significantly with costs for April and May)
$1,000 to help with food, transportation, incidentals
Funds beyond initial goal (updated)
Additional funds raised will go toward costs like bills, flights, insurance deductible, lodging, insurance premium, food, transportation and incidentals beyond June. Reaching our stretch goal of $10,000 will help the Kuhars feel financially secure through the summer months.
