I’d like to ask you to please help this amazing family! Initially they were not onboard with this because they really don’t like asking for support, so I am asking for them! Shanna has suffered with pneumonia on and off for the last 3 years and it recently became worse as treatment has been ineffective. On March 12, 2019 Shanna met with a new provider who found a lung mass that had been misdiagnosed since 2014. After a series of tests, several doctors, and trips to Rochester, Shanna was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor and needs to have it removed. This is a major surgery that will involve removing Shanna’s middle and lower right lobe of her lung. Her surgery is scheduled for May 9th in Rochester, MN with a recovery period up to 6 weeks. Duringthe process of diagnosing the lung mass, 5 tumors were also discovered on her pancreas. She will need to fully recover from her lung surgery and then return in approximately 4 months to re-evaluate treatment for those tumors as well. Shanna and Jesse have 2 beautiful little boys to support while Shanna goes through surgery & recovery. Unfortunately, there will not be any paid time off from work for either of them. They have already had major medical & travel expenses, with many more ahead. Shanna has an amazing heart and is always the first person I know to offer support to others in need.
