A final update:
It is with heavy hearts that we share that on Friday May 9 Steve passed away peacefully at home after fighting a three-year long strong and courageous battle against brain cancer. This past year Steve truly fought with everything he had, relying on his strong faith in Jesus Christ, through a second brain surgery, multiple treatments, and finally coming home on hospice just a few weeks ago. He leaves behind his wife Sara and their three beautiful kids Noelle (4), Penelope (2), and their newest adorable addition Quintin (5 months). He was such a steadfast and devoted husband to Sara and father to his kids until the very end, persevering through his struggles to show up with positivity, love, affection and of course a smile and lots of humor. He even managed to help build his family a "Bluey bench" in his final weeks so that his family had a space to go to be together and be close to him. While it seems nearly impossible to go on without him at times, we don't mourn without hope, we know that cancer has lost its battle with Steve; Jesus has overcome and Steve is rejoicing in Heaven with no more sickness or pain.
Sara has been Steve's best friend, advocate, and caretaker until the end. Her strength, faith, and perseverance have been unmatched. She never stopped fighting for him, supporting and loving him even on the hardest days, while showing up consistently for her three children.
Many have asked how they can give to Sara and the kids as they move forward so we are re-circulating this GoFundMe as an opportunity to bless them if you so wish. We are so very grateful for your support as they get back on their feet.
