Please Help the Krohne Family!

Please consider helping this beautiful family as they work together to support David through his health issues. As many of you know, David has been struggling with very serious health complications for years. He fought his way through a broken hip and multiple strokes.

In December, a small cut on his toe resulted in a very serious infection that required an amputation of the toe, then a portion of the foot, and ultimately his left leg below the knee. He’s been through multiple surgical procedures to cut and clean out infection, but he still has a long journey ahead of him before he could be ready for a prosthetic leg.

While on a trip to Williamsburg to visit with family, David was hospitalized and suffered more setbacks. He had a heart attack and went into sepsis, which caused damage to his heart and multi-organ failure. By the grace of God, David pulled through and was able to get back home to GA, but it has been an uphill battle for him and his family.

David’s wife, Amy, is a nurse and has been his primary caregiver with help from their four girls. She battles MS and struggles with her own health and has also continued to work to support the family through all of this. It’s hard for them to ask for financial help, but the need is great and they are so deserving of it! David has moved into a bedroom on the lower level of their home with a bathroom right next door. But the bathroom is not handicap accessible. David has fallen and injured himself trying to get in and out of the bathroom. The bathroom requires remodeling, but the family cannot afford that on top of the many medical bills and other bills required just to live. They’d like to open the doorway, have the tub swapped out for a tile shower that is handicap accessible, and replace the toilet with a higher one that includes handicap bars so that David can get on and off of it with less assistance. The wall will also have to be moved out to allow for more space so he can turn his wheelchair around in the room. They’ve already had a contractor come out to take a look and the goal of this fundraiser was set to cover that estimate. But they need our help to make this happen! This will not only help David become more independent and stay safe, but it will greatly help his family. Simple things like brushing his teeth, washing his hands, showering, using the restroom, and shaving are challenging for him and his family because the bathroom is not equipped. This will improve his quality of life, protect him from injury, and provide him with more independence.
