In what should have been the best year of their lives as newlyweds & new homeowners, my dear friends, Stephen & Nicole (Alberini) Kondilas experienced a nightmare scenario when their furnace malfunctioned, causing a puff back that ignited a mini chimney fire in their home.

This created a thick soot that quickly ravaged their living quarters (furniture, walls, flooring, etc.) and caused exterior damage to the siding of their home.

The damage is extensive, affecting everything from their belongings to the structure itself.

Just when they thought things couldn’t get worse, the basement partially flooded during mitigation destroying cherished personal belongings (clothing, dog beds, home decor, etc.) exacerbating the already extensive damage.

The Kondilas family (including their three precious golden retrievers) had to swiftly relocate after this disaster and have been subsequently living in an Airbnb since January 26.

Insurance will help cover some of the cost of rebuilding their lives, but as we all know, that is an extremely timely process.

As small business owners, these unexpected costs have been life altering.

Nicole and Steve truly did not want me to start this GoFundMe because they understand times are tough for everyone, but I reassured them there are people out there who will want to support them after all the kindness and support they have given to so many.
