The Old Knitting Factory: Repairs and Updates

Help the Old Knitting Factory reopen for residencies and group retreats!

Writer and single mother Betsy Cornwell is working to turn the Old Knitting Factory in Galway, Ireland into a childcare-inclusive arts residency space for single parents, as well as a space for individual and group retreats. Over the last two and a half years, she ran a successful crowdfunding campaign to purchase the building. After welcoming the knitting factory's first single parent resident last summer, now she is working to fund repairs and renovations.

Funds raised here have covered:

Dangerous tree removal: €2,700

Emergency oil tank replacement: €3,500

Drain repair and replacement: €1,450

Stretch goals:

Rewiring: €20,000

Bathroom renovation: €12,000

Kitchenette: €8,000
