Help the Knights of the Valley go to worlds!

Greetings everyone,

We are the Knights of the Valley, a robotics team from Apple Valley High School in Minnesota. We are reaching out to you today because we need your help.

We have just qualified for the national tournament, which is an incredible achievement for our small team. However, we have a major hurdle to overcome. We need to raise $20,000 in just two and a half weeks to be able to attend the tournament.

Qualifying for nationals was entirely unexpected, and we are thrilled to have made it this far. However, we are a team of hardworking kids competing against much larger teams with much bigger budgets. We have been in existence for 15 years, but have struggled to get back on our feet since COVID hit.

This is the first time in over 10 years that our team has advanced at the regional competition, and we are determined to make the most of this opportunity. We have managed to fundraise the $5,000 entry fee in just two days, which is a huge accomplishment, but we still need help with the rest of the expenses.

The funds raised will go towards airfare from Minneapolis to Houston, where the event takes place, a hotel for team members and mentors to stay, costs to bring the robot and equipment to Houston (likely with coaches driving overnight with a trailer), the cost of sharing a charter bus with another Minnesota team to travel from the hotel to the tournament venue, as well as food expenses during the trip.

In addition, we will continue to fundraise and reach out to sponsors, but we will also need to spend time getting ready for the competition and getting ahead on schoolwork so we can leave school for a week. Spare time is extremely limited, so any help we can get will make a huge difference in making this trip a reality.

We are a team of dedicated and passionate students who have put countless hours into this project. We believe that this experience will not only help us develop our technical skills but also our leadership and teamwork abilities.
