Hello!
Im Florence Nandawula, the founder and director of Homeland Brass Band, a project created in 2015 in Kampala Uganda. We teach music and pay school fees for the kids from the slums of Katogo Ggaba, most of them don't go to school and some are orphan and leave on the streets. Our band is a safe place for them to gather and learn! We perform functions in local celebrations and we also played in the last two editions of Nyege Nyege Festival, they are our good friends. In 2022 we had a short documentary showing our band in French TV Tracks/Arte. With this Gofundme we want to be able to pay the school fees of our kids for 2024 and also get a house were we can work and provide shelter to the kids that don't have were to sleep. Step by step we want to create a space with opportunities for them to grow, learn, and smile.
