On May 23, 2025, my car was stolen from my apartment around 6-7 am. On May 27th, my car was recovered 4 minutes from my home with major damage to the exterior of the car, along with gasoline all over the floor of the back seat and tons of stolen items everywhere. After searching my car, I realized that my 5 and 3-year-olds' car seats had been taken, along with my 3-month-old daughter's newborn car seat, which had been cut out of the car. These car seats were picked specifically to fit all of the kids in my Kia. There are tons of other things missing, along with my new baby stroller and keepsakes from the hospital when baby girl was born that I was transporting to my parents' home.

I am currently enrolled full-time in school to be a paralegal (I anm certified phlebotomist but have had an hard time securing a job ) and have limited income. I have been told today (June 12) that my insurance company is only paying me out $9,823.60 for my 2016 Kia Sorento after deciding to total it out ,( they have said the car is not worth the repair and it would be extensive), This amount does not cover my loan of $11,064 on my vehicle, let alone give me any room to get us another vehicle. With the donations I will pay my difference off on the loan and put the rest towards a new vehicle . I hate asking for help, but when it comes down to my children's transportation, I know this is the right thing to do and ask my inner village and my even wider outer village. I need this vehicle to get my kids to and from school and camp, along with getting my baby to doctor's appointments and eventually for me to maintain my job. I appreciate anything anyone can give but am also open to ideas and strategies that could help me get another vehicle.

This crime was reported to the police, and there is an ongoing investigation. The person who did it has been still actively taking people's cars and destroying lives.
