Our dear friends Desiree and Steve are going through hard times and they need our help!
Over the past month Des has been in the hospital off and on. She was rushed to the ER with dangerously high fever and lots of pain. A CAT scan showed a kidney stone was blocking her kidney and caused severe sepsis throughout her body. She was immediately admitted and they begin IV antibiotics right away. During those first couple of days, her husband Steve who had missed two days of work bringing her to the ER and helping out with the children, was fired from his job due to attendance. Not only was this horrible timing, but now with Des being sick and Steve not having employment they have been put into a very bad financial situation.
Things made a turn again this past Monday, after extensive tests found a severe compression in her spine and she has been diagnosed with lupus. We do not know until she meets with several specialists what this all entails for her or of she will be able to return back to work.
Desiree and Steve are some of the nicest people I have met! Anything you can do to help them get back on their feet I am sure would be greatly appreciated. Aside from regular living expenses, she is having to purchase medical equipment to help her get around. As well as all of the medications that she will need that are not completely covered by insurance.
