Help Scott & Angie Kerr Keep Their Family Afloat During a Medical Crisis
In December 2024, I started working at Sam’s Club and met one of the most incredible women I’ve ever known—Angie Kerr. We became fast friends, and over time she shared parts of her story that have stayed with me.
Angie and her husband, Scott Kerr, have faced more heartbreak and hardship than most of us can imagine. They lost two of their babies to a rare genetic condition called neonatal hemochromatosis, which causes liver failure in newborns. Years later, Scott was diagnosed with genetic cirrhosis of the liver—a condition that has since been identified in several of his family members. At the time of their children's births, they had no idea this disease ran in the family.
Through it all, neither Angie nor Scott has ever complained.
Scott now undergoes paracentesis every few days to remove painful, excess fluid from his abdomen. He has suffered severe episodes of confusion—once becoming disoriented while trying to pick up their son from school, requiring police involvement to ensure he got home safely. Just recently, Scott suffered a seizure and was hospitalized again.
Now, on top of everything else, they are facing a new wave of challenges. Because of the seizure, Scott is being referred to additional doctors and specialists to determine the cause and ongoing risks. This means even more appointments, medical expenses, and time off work for Angie, who is doing everything she can to care for him and keep their family afloat.
They were in the process of buying a new trailer—a safer and more stable home Scott wanted to secure for his family before his health declined further—but that dream has had to be put on hold. Right now, they are simply trying to hold on to what they have.
I wish I could make Scott’s dream of a new home come true, but today I’m asking for help with the everyday essentials: rent, groceries, gas for medical appointments, and basic bills—so Angie doesn’t fall behind while she’s trying to care for her husband and keep her job.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Let’s come together to support Angie and Scott Kerr in this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
