Kennedy-Hubbard Fam. KY Tornado Relief - Home Destroyed

Donation protected
Update 6/17/25:

The family remains staying in friends' homes. They're very close to reaching a goal that can help them have most costs met to allow them to rent again and aquire the furniture needed for a living space.

Update:
Unfortunatley, the family has been separated (Beulah+Doug) (Jess+Gwennie) and now reside in friends' homes, for now. The outpouring of donations have been so appreciative and helpful during this unimaginable time. Further donations would greatly help the family reunite and rebuild their lives in a home together.

Beulah and Doug Kennedy, along with their daughter and granddaughter Jessica and Gwendolyn Hubbard (16 years old), are facing an unimaginable reality after a tornado destoyed their home on Hart Church Road in London, Kentucky on May 16, 2025.

They have rented this home since 2013, and did not have rental insurance. They aren't expecting any insurance money to help, aside from the totaled vehicle.

Gwennie is 16 years old, about to finish her junior year of high school and has no where to call home. This is her last year living with her family before she starts her educational career at the University of Louisville. I'd love to see the community come together and help this family rebuild with the least amount of burden possible.

They were lucky to escape with their lives. There was about 20-30 seconds max warning to take cover, and within that time the tornado threw them on the ground. Doug was trapped in the kitchen, holding on for his life, while the roof blew off above him. The insulation is on every inch of the home, their kitchen items are beyond salvaging, their couches are not salvageable, and their beds were also compromised.

Doug is an retired airman. He's a veteran who honorably served his country in Vietnam. His favorite thing to do is practice flight simulation everyday, and he unfortunately lost his computer tower, monitor and flight yoke in the tornado. This hobby has thousands of dollars invested into it. This has been devastating for them, the lives they knew have been shattered.

They are staying in a hotel right now, which is a very costly temporary solution. The hotel expenses are a huge burden for them, even with any discount options.
They need support to cover these costs until they can find more permanent housing. They have received donations of essential items, but the financial strain of the hotel bill is too much for them to do alone and they don't deserve to. This family is one of the nicest I've ever met, with hearts of gold.

The funds raised will go towards paying for their hotel stay, ensuring they have a safe place to stay during this challenging time. Once they have a new home, any other funds will help them purchase new beds, furniture, as well as living room and kitchen appliances.

The community financial support can make a huge difference in helping their family navigate this difficult period and rebuild their lives. Any contribution, even sharing will be greatly appreciated and will directly assist them in overcoming this tragic event.

This go fund me is created by Devon Osborne, a friend of the family, on their behalf. Anyone can reach out to me for other information on Facebook messenger.
