Help the Kemmler Family Fight Covid 19

Donation protected

8/22/20  Update.  Sadly, John and his care team lost the fight with COVID today,  passing away peacefully and without pain.  Maria and the kids were able to say their goodbyes over the phone as he drew his last breaths.

The response to this fundraiser has been nothing short of amazing.  I always assumed John and Maria’s positivity and thoughtfulness had a far reach, but had no idea it extended beyond their immediate community.

Heres where we can do our part.  Please continue to give.  While John may no longer be with us, the difficulties for his family are just beginning.  Funeral arrangements, hospital bills, etc are soon to start rolling in,and less of a burden they are, the better they may grieve and process their loss.

Thank you!

John Kemmler is fighting for his life.
He is currently on a ventilator in the ICU of Long Beach Memorial hospital where the doctors and nurses are doing everything they can to help his body fight off COVID 19.   His wife Maria, and their three children are doing their best to stay positive, and John is a fighter, but their family's unknown future is daunting, to say the least.

John has had a long and successful career as a transportation professional for the Hollywood studios, but was furloughed when the industry was shut down at the beginning of the quarantine.  Between their savings and Maria's job at Belmont Heights Methodist church, they have been getting by, but the inevitable toll of the medical bills will put a significant strain on their family and their ability to weather this storm.

The Kemmler's are a fixture in both the Belmont Heights and greater Long Beach communities.  Maria is a Girl Scout troop leader and John has been a constant and passionate assistant scoutmaster with Troop 14 for the last 5 years.  They and their children volunteer hundreds of community service hours every year, benefiting groups like Christian Outreach in Action, Ronald McDonald House,  and Meals on  Wheels, to name a few.    They plan and host fun and safe activities for local youth, and organize neighborhood bicycle registration events.

They represent the best of us.  Let's do what we can to help them in their time of need.  No amount is too small or too large.  If you are unable to give, please share this with everyone you know.
Thank you!
