Sadly Dave Kelly peacefully passed away Wed Jan 22 around 10am at the young age of 52. He was a resident of Almont, Michigan. He battled bravely since Dec 21st. During his time at the hospital Dave incurred around 10 severe heart attacks, many strokes, many seizures, and was shocked by a defibrillator 10 times in 48 hours to bring his heart beat back and still fought for over 3 weeks after while in very critical condition. He leaves behind 2 daughters (age 23 and age 12) and a loving wife, that he has known since they were both 15yo. In addition to a number of fur babies and other pets.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to those that have graciously donated money, meals, groceries, gift cards and prayers during this time of need through the nextdoor app.

Unfortunately, they are still in need of assistance and advice and it does take a "village" during these difficult times, especially when a family is relearning how to live day by day without the love of their lives and pillar of strength. Bills, now including medical, after life expenses, new vehicle repairs caused by a hit and run on Daves wife Jonells car this past week while on the way home from the hospital have taken what little reserve there was. Losing a loved one is an area that a lot of families don't plan well for as our family is a place of security, therefore when tragedy does cast its shadow it catches the family off guard just as it did with this family. While trying to find their own ways to grieve they are being distracted by other problems. If you could take the time to donate anything or leave a kind message, please do, ANYTHING HELPS! I am writing this post because I have seen Dave almost everyday for the last 6 years as he is my future father in law, I miss him deeply, and hate to see the struggles first hand that our family is going through.

We are a local family requesting kindness of the community for another local (Almont) family. On Dec 21, 2024, A father and husband was transported via ambulance to McLaren Lapeer hospital. He was then transferred to McLaren Flint and then finally to Henry Ford Detroit as they were the most capable facility for the interventions he needed. He is still admitted to Henry Ford Detroit and remains in CRITICAL care. Family travels to the hospital daily (Almont to Detroit) and the distance is taking a toll on their finances and ability to maintain a "stable" family environment. Humanity for one of their own is one area that small communities excel. This family is in need of financial assistance, gas cards, restaurant gift cards/groceries and/or prepared meals. They also have accumulating medical bills. Any of these donations can be dropped off at their house and left on their covered porch in Almont, our porch in Bruce Twp., or sent electronically (accounts and addresses listed below) It is very much appreciated and hoping the community will once again show how small country living is the best living.
