EVICTION THREAT - Help the Kellison-Deckers

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chris and I am a husband to an amazing and ever-supportive wife, and father to three weird and wonderful kids. To say that 2023 has been unkind to our family would be an understatement. In January I was let go from my job due to "a reduction in workforce due to COVID-19" and found myself unemployed for the first time this year. I did odd jobs from time to time and applied for hundreds of jobs in my fields (Financial Operations & Payroll/HR), but I was having zero luck getting a job. Timing was everything and some available COVID-19 resources we were able to get by during that time.

Just when I was at my lowest, I finally found a job in April that got me feeling hopeful again. However, that was all too good to be true as I was constantly belittled, our team ridiculed and our jobs threatened by the CEO. I ended up parting ways with that company in September and I have been unemployed ever since. It's been stressful and scary, to say the least. At least once a month we get an eviction notice and I scrounge up the money to pay for it, and every time a bill comes through I worry it won't clear my bank.

I've been Doordashing to make ends meet, and I've sold basically all of my valuables, but it's just no longer enough, and with the cold months coming, I'm getting more and more concerned for my family. My electric bill is three months past due, car payment is late, my rent is past due this month and I have other household expenses such as cell phones that I am afraid we won't be able to pay for. I am, for the first time, genuinely scared that my family could end up homeless. And I really want my kids to be able to have a nice Christmas and not have to worry about our money problems. We have already told them it will be a smaller Christmas than usual.

I am hoping that I can raise enough to pay this month's rent $1260, January's rent $1260, car payment for December $280, and a little cushion for other bills. I can provide proof of late rent notice if that helps. Every little bit helps this time of year and I greatly appreciate each and every one of you. I hope that when I am working full time again that I can pay it forward.
