Help the Keilty Family Rebuild After Hurricane

Hello friends! My name is Alexis Hansen and I am helping to raise money for our dear friends Sara, who works for Lee County, and Tanner Keilty, a combat military vet and first responder.

As most of you know, almost two years ago to this exact date, September 28, 2022, their house was destroyed when the category 4 storm, Hurricane Ian, decimated Fort Myers, Fl. Sara and Tanner had just moved in after a year long exciting renovation to their home in the Historic Dean Park area of Fort Myers. After Ian, Sara was on top of it, as Sara always is, and they were able to rebuild fairly quickly for the area. The city of Fort Myers, Lee County, was declared a disaster so they were able to file FEMA claims immediately which helped. In 2023, a few months after the devastation, they were able to move back into their house and shortly after welcomed their second baby girl in July.

This past Thursday, September 26th, 2024, Hurricane Helene blew through and once again flooded the first floor of their home they had been in for a little over a year now after rebuilding after Ian.

This time around the government has changed laws in favor of the insurance companies. This morning, Sept. 29th, the president has finally declared all of Florida a state of disaster. Today they will be able to apply for FEMA. Many people have to file claims, supplies and rebuild once again leaving everything much harder and more complicated this time around.

The Keilty Family needs our help kickstarting their rebuild for their family so they can have a healthy safe place for their children while they wait out the insurance and construction battles they have ahead of them.

They will need a storage unit or some place they can move all of their belongings to while they renovate the damaged first floor, supplies and a contractor. There is also another new storm on the horizon. With the unknown heading towards them they have little time to clean up the mess from Helene and prepare for what may happen.

Thankfully the family and their two dogs are safe as that is the most important thing of all!
