Help the Kajis after the Boulder wildfire
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Shelly D’Amico, and although I live in Maryland, I'm starting a gofundme to help my sister, Jana Ikeda, brother-in-law, Brent Kaji, and nephews, Ty and Ren Kaji.
The wildfires that tore through Louisville and Superior, Colorado, on December 30 left many families devastated as their homes burned to the ground. Fortunately, my sister and her family were visiting our parents and her in-laws over the holidays, so everyone was safe. But, unfortunately, they didn’t have the opportunity to grab even the smallest of personal items. As a result, they returned to Colorado without a home, cars, or even winter coats.
My nephews are a senior and a junior in high school. They will finish their high school careers, not only with the disruption of COVID but also with the loss of their childhood home, neighborhood, and belongings that help define the young men they are becoming.
Regardless, life continues. Ty and Ren have school to attend, activities to run to, jobs to do, and friends to see. I hope that fundraising to help the boys get cars will bring a little normalcy back to their disrupted lives and ease a little of the burden that undoubtedly lays ahead as the family rebuilds.
If you are able, please donate whatever amount you can to help. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will not only help the Kajis financially, but it will bring them some comfort and show them that there is compassion in everyone around them.
I appreciate your support, and I hope you and yours remain safe and healthy.
