Help the Kaglar Family as Baby H Fights a Rare and Aggressive Cancer

The Kaglar family is facing every parent's worst nightmare, and they need our help.

Just weeks after celebrating Baby H’s first birthday, a routine visit to the eye doctor on January 29th turned into a heartbreaking diagnosis—Bilateral Retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of eye cancer.

Retinoblastoma is the most common eye cancer in children, but it is still incredibly rare, occurring in only 1 in 15,000–20,000 live births. Baby H’s case is even more uncommon—bilateral retinoblastoma (affecting both eyes) accounts for only 1 in 4 cases. Without urgent treatment, this cancer can spread to the brain and other parts of the body, making early intervention critical.

A Devastating Diagnosis

Baby H’s right eye has a tumor dangerously close to the center of vision, raising serious concerns about permanent sight loss. The tumor in the left eye is four times larger and has begun to spread through "seed tumors", which are trying to form even more tumors. This aggressive progression means time is of the essence in preventing further damage.

A Family Pushed to Their Limits

Baby H is set to undergo at least four rounds of chemotherapy, with doctors closely monitoring the effectiveness of treatment before deciding on the next steps. But for the Kaglar family, this battle is not just medical—it is also emotional, physical, and financial.

Baby H’s mom is a loving, devoted mother of three, now balancing the impossible task of caring for a sick baby while also meeting the needs of her two other children. Her days are consumed by hospital visits, sleepless nights, and the overwhelming uncertainty of what the future holds.

Meanwhile, Baby H’s dad has had to take an unexpected leave from work to stay by her side as she begins chemotherapy, leading to lost wages at a time when the family needs stability the most. As a single-income household, they are now struggling to keep up with their mortgage, bills, travel expenses, and medical costs—many of which are not covered by insurance.
