Support Mercy, Maia, and Moriah Juarez as they prepare to represent Team USA at the International Combat Organization tournament in Thonon-Les-Bains, France this October. This incredible opportunity is a major milestone for the Juarez sisters, and it reflects years of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. Mercy Juarez is a 16-year-old Japanese Goju Ryu blackbelt, a nationally ranked kata competitor, and one of the top junior female fighters in the world. Mercy is a member of the nationally acclaimed Team Army, made up of elite martial arts competitors from across Texas. Through organizations including TKO, NASKA, WAKO, and WKC, Mercy has earned multiple state, national, and world championship titles. Beyond competition, Mercy is also known as a mentor to younger athletes and for the humble spirit that has earned deep respect in her martial arts community.
Maia Juarez, 10, is also a Japanese Goju Ryu blackbelt who trains at Kaizen Elite Training under Sensei Clarissa Villanueva-DeHoyos and Sensei Joseph De Hoyos. Maia is known for discipline, strength, and grit, and has been a top-seeded kata and fighting athlete since the age of 4. Maia competes around the country in TKO, NASKA, WAKO, WKC, and ProMac, and has excelled in point sparring, creative forms, and traditional Japanese forms. Maia is also a competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grappler and has earned gold medals through TNT Sport MMA, Grappling Industries, and NAGA. Moriah Juarez, 9, is a brown belt in Japanese Goju Ryu who also trains at Kaizen Elite Training under Sensei Clarissa Villanueva-DeHoyos and Sensei Joseph De Hoyos. Moriah is a decorated athlete in multiple styles of martial arts, competing in creative forms, extreme weapons, point fighting, and grappling. She is especially known for her skill with kamas and for the creativity and innovation she brings to her training, often working with guidance from mentors and two big sisters to keep improving.
In addition to their success in competition, the Juarez sisters are dedicated students and role models in their community. Mercy is a constant A student and a senior at IDEA Burke Public Schools, as well as a member of the National Honor Society and the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Maia is a consistent A student in 7th grade, and Moriah is a straight A student in 6th grade at IDEA Burke Public Schools. Together, Mercy, Maia, and Moriah are nationally ranked martial artists with multiple state, national, and world titles, and now they have the chance to compete on the world stage once again while proudly representing the United States. Donations will help cover membership, registrations, travel expenses, flights, lodging, gear, uniforms, and food so they can make this journey and focus on performing at their best.
