Help the Joshman get a wheelchair access vehicle

Story

Many years ago I told my friend Robyn "if there is anything I can do let me know". Well, I got the call several weeks ago " Jodie we need some help". Robyn and David Gnech are the proud parents of three beautiful children. In 2014 Robyn and David were advised by doctors of the catastrophic news that their middle son Joshua had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD is a muscle-wasting disease that results in progressive muscle deterioration and with no cure, life expectancy is limited. Joshua now has transitioned to a motorised wheelchair, sounds cool, but the reality is this is bittersweet. It means he now is unable to self propel a manual wheelchair so needs his wheelchair to be motorised to get around just to complete day to day tasks. At the moment the family vehicle does not suit Joshua's new wheelchair. What does this mean, well it means a quick trip down the road is not a quick trip at all but needs to be planned. The reality is this young man who is finishing year 6 this year is missing out on some excellent adventures. What we need is the ultimate vehicle for freedom and give Josh back the independence that will allow him to drive his wheelchair in and out of the vehicle easily and purchase a Wheelchair Access Vehicle (WAV). The conversions are covered by NDIS but not the vehicle itself. If this family were able to purchase a WAV then it would increase mobility for Josh to go shopping, ongoing medical appointments, school, parties, the possibilities are endless. Trips would be more enjoyable. I am sure you can relate, remember putting the children's pram in the car during summer, or downpours. Time is limited for this young man, lets's get together as a community and support this cause. Time is of the essence. The below photo is the test run - amazing
