Help the Jordan Family Rebuild After Hurricane Milton
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I am Khary Turner, an Detroiter whose relatives - Mort, Christin and Leah Jordan - live in Largo, FL. Their lives have been turned upside down by the devastating effects of Hurricane Milton. In one of the most catastrophic storms in the last century, Largo was hit hard. While they are incredibly grateful to have survived, their home did not fare well.
The storm brought unprecedented flooding, leaving the house with severe water damage. And because Largo was not considered a flood zone by insurance companies before Milton dumped over four feet of water in the area, the Jordans are anticipating the prospect of recovering without sufficient coverage.
The road ahead for Mort, Christin and Leah is long and uncertain. Beyond the immediate home concerns, Christin’s treatment for breast cancer is compounded by the mold that is forming in the home’s moistened walls, and the family is working to facilitate Leah’s return to school.
We are asking for your help to ease their burden and speed their recovery efforts. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
• Essential repairs to their home, and re-establishing a healthy environment for Christin
• Replacing basic necessities lost in the flood
• Replacing Leah’s technology and school supplies
Your generosity will help the Jordans rebuild their lives and protect their health after this unimaginable ordeal. Whether you can donate or share this page with others, your support is deeply appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
