Help The Johnson’s Raise Money for Transplant

My name is Raheem Johnson and in December of 2019 I am hoping to donate my kidney to my mom, Lee Johnson. Two years ago my mom called me and asked I come home from school at USC to take her to the Emergency Room because she felt weak and was unable to stand on her own. The doctors ran all kinds of tests and two days later diagnosed her with complete kidney failure. Since the surgery, my mom has been going to dialysis three days a week for several hours a day and then going straight to her job in order to support her family. 

My mom is the strongest person I have ever met. Despite being a single mother of four, she also provides for her grandchildren and her uncle. I am donating my kidney to provide her with the health that she needs to continue raising my youngest brother and although I will never be able to repay her for everything she has given me, I hope this is a start.

We don't like asking for help but we understand that it is necessary since my mom and myself will be out of work for the period of the surgery itself plus the recovery time of six weeks. We are not only asking for donations but begging for your thoughts and prayers over the next six months. Thank you for giving what you can and taking the time to read our story.
