The Johnson’s story…
This is my daughter and son in law, Jessilynn and Kyle Johnson. Some of you may know Kyle as Dr. Johnson from Tankersley Chiropractic. Kyle has served his community for years and goes out of his way to care for his patients. Jess and Kyle are a young couple that worked hard to build a home and start a family. They were blessed with a baby girl almost two years ago, and just recently found out they are expecting a baby boy due in Feb. In May of this year, they were dealt with a hard blow and devastating news when doctors diagnosed Kyle with a large non cancerous brain tumor, about the size of a softball. In August he had his first surgery to have it removed, however, the tumor was sitting on large blood vessels in his brain, so Doctors had no choice but to leave two small spots of the tumor due to the risks of hitting those vessels. Doctors removed a large portion of Kyle’s skull and replaced it with an artificial plate. Kyle was to start radiation in a few months to shrink the 1% of the tumor that could not be removed so it hopefully wouldn’t grow back. The surgery had went as planned and he was on his road to recovery. But just a few weeks later, Kyle started having seizures. For 5 hours, he could not talk or use his hands. He was hospitalized in the ICU for 4 days while they tried to get his seizures to stop. Kyle was able to recover and go home. But then a few days ago, new symptoms appeared. He was rushed to UAB and it was discovered he had an infection in his brain above the plate. Kyle had his second surgery today. Unfortunately the plate had to be removed so his brain can heal. A third surgery is scheduled in a few months to put a new artificial plate in, which is when his baby boy is due. There is no time frame for when he can go back to work. Kyle does not get paid leave. This family needs your help. With a toddler, and a new baby on the way, it will be financially very difficult to cover monthly bills and medical bills with only one income and Jess trying to work as much as possible but also having to take off to care for her husband and child, all while pregnant. I am asking our community to be here for this beautiful family. Any donation would be appreciated.
