Brendan Johnson, a devout Catholic, husband, and father, and teacher was found unconscious at Mount St. Mary's Seminary's Rother House by Fr. Diego on August 14th after he suffered a ruptured brain fistula. He was airlifted to Baltimore, Maryland where he underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding in and on his brain. While incredible physicians and medical staff focus on his treatment and recovery, the Johnsons face growing expenses for not only Brendan’s medical needs, but also for his pregnant wife and their four beautiful children. Brendan's wife will have obstetric appointments in the midst of ongoing travel between their home in Thurmont and Baltimore to be with her husband.

As we continue to pray for a speedy and complete recovery for Brendan, the Institute of the Incarnate Word, the order serving Brendan and Mary’s parish, is asking for funds for their mission to support families in need like the Johnsons and is eternally grateful to anyone who is able to help alleviate some of the looming financial demands for families in their situation. THANK YOU to everyone who is able to donate and help the Institute support people like this amazing servant-hearted family during this incredibly difficult time. We additionally ask for continued prayers, especially through the intercession of Blessed Stanley Rother. May God bless you always!

Donations to this fundraiser are made to the Institute of the Incarnate Word, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, to support its charitable works — including its ongoing assistance to families in need within the communities it serves, such as the Johnson family. The Institute retains full discretion over the use of these funds consistent with its charitable purposes, including supporting families in need like the Johnsons. Because gifts are made to the Institute and not to any individual, they may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; donors should consult their own tax advisor.
