The Ashgrove community has been left heartbroken by the devastating loss of the Jeremijenko family home.

A family of seven, the Jeremijenkos are so much more than familiar faces in our neighbourhood. They are part of the very fabric of Ashgrove. The heart and soul of our community. A family who have touched countless lives, given so much of themselves, and made a genuine difference to so many of us and our children.

Luke, a much-loved local doctor and professor, and his family have spent years contributing to the community around them. Their impact reaches far beyond their own front door.

And then there’s Anne-Marie. If you know her, you’ll know exactly the kind of person she is. Selfless, generous, strong and always willing to lend a hand. She’s been the mum who offers to help with the kids, welcomes them for sleepovers, organises playdates and makes sure other families feel supported. She’s given her time, her home and her heart to so many of us, often without a second thought.

For so many families in Ashgrove, Anne-Marie has been someone we could count on. Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.

In a matter of moments, a devastating fire has taken away the place they call home, along with belongings, treasured memories and the security that comes with having a place to call your own.

Right now, seven family members are facing the enormous task of picking up the pieces and navigating the uncertainty of what comes next.

For a family who have given so much to so many, we’d love our community to come together and give something back.
