As some of you know, Jamie Jacobs and I are going through some significant changes with our small business, t.c. studios, which has been the livelihood for our family for over a decade. These transitions have been very difficult on multiple fronts, and we are asking for your help & support- not only for our family, but also our teams of local artists (some of which have been with our company for 7+ years!)
NOW is the time to support our business to keep us going. Between 2 years of Jamie being in severe chronic pain, and ultimately getting 2 major back surgeries, closing our brick and mortar studio, as well as some other devastating setbacks, it has put us in some business debt. Jamie had been in progressively worsening pain that he found out was a fractured spine, as well as spondylolisthesis (a deformity that caused a ruptured disc). After years of pain and misdiagnosis, he finally was able to get a spinal fusion and lumbar discectomy with a prosthetic spacer, in November 2024, and praise God, is finally feeling as close to normal and healthy as possible!
We have been in business for a decade, and between Jamie's injuries/surgeries, and being new parents, it's been the most difficult 2 years of our career. Jamie's back injuries, surgeries, and recovery (8 months), made it so we were not able to move out of our studio by the end of 2024 (our original plan). This, along with focusing all efforts to moving out of the studio this fall (and ultimately neglecting other important business tasks), has unfortunately resulted in accumulating some financial hardship for our business. This affects not only our family, but also our team.
Until our current business debts are resolved, our ordinary business income is not enough to keep our business or family afloat, which is why we are raising money. While we are exploring and capitalizing on other means of making additional income for the long-term, we are feeling the pressure of time constraints and due dates, which is why we've resulted to GoFundMe, for the short-term needs.
T.C. Studios isn’t just about making money, but also about supporting our communities, and over the years we have been able to raise funds and donate thousands of dollars to non-profits. We are proud to say that over the last 10 years, our company has become award-winning, and we have even been recipients of a Key to the City for volunteerism, as business owners in the community. Serving is integrated into our business' blueprint, as this is something that Jamie and I are both passionate about. It is one of t.c. studios' core values.
We sincerely appreciate all of the love and support over the years. Please help keep us running, and know how much you are loved and appreciated! We are extremely grateful for any contribution. Thank you!
