Help The Iron Gears Robotics Team Go to Worlds!

The Iron Gears are a sixth-year FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team from the Twin Cities Northwest Metro. This year, all seven students on our team are seniors. In 2020, the Iron Gears qualified for the FIRST World Championship in Detroit, Michigan, by winning the first place Inspire Award at the Minnesota FTC State Championship hosted by High Tech Kids. First place Inspire is the highest award a team can win in FTC. This was the team's first time qualifying for the World Championship, and we were excited to represent Minnesota. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 FIRST World Championship was canceled.

 

In 2021, the Iron Gears won first place Inspire at the Minnesota FTC State Championship hosted by High Tech Kids. Due to the continued global pandemic, the FIRST World Championship was never scheduled.

 

This year, the Iron Gears won first place Inspire at the Minnesota FTC State Championship hosted by High Tech Kids for the third year. The FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas, is finally happening this year, and the Iron Gears cannot wait to participate! As a team of all seniors in high school, we look forward to finally participating, making friends, and seeing our robot compete alongside teams worldwide.

 

The Iron Gears need your help, and we need it fast! Rebuilding a competitive robot, driving to Houston from Minnesota, hotels, and competing with teams worldwide is incredibly expensive! We are looking for community support to help send our team to represent Northwest Metro Robotics at the FIRST World Championship. Please consider donating.

 

Our fundraising goal matches our expected costs to attend this competition. Any donations remaining beyond what is necessary will be used to help fund Northwest Metro Robotics teams compete in the future.
