Built, Not Bought: The Road to Johannesburg
From the streets of Cape Town to the biggest 5-a-side stage in Africa, the Ireland Boys are more than just a football team—we are a family.
Founded officially in 2023 with roots in the lower-income areas of Cape Town, our team was built on the belief that football is a "home" for those who need it most. We started as a group of friends struggling just to find transport money for local games. Today, we are a brand recognized across South Africa, defined by our fast-paced, technical style and a bond that goes deeper than the pitch.
The Challenge
We have done the impossible: Two of our squads—Ireland Boys and Dublin Boys—have both qualified for the Season 4 5quad League R500k Tournament in Johannesburg on 26 and 27 June 2026!
While we have dominated the Cape Town qualifiers, winning 3 out of 3, the journey to the main event in June is our biggest hurdle yet. We are a self-funded club, and to get 20 players from CPT to JHB to compete for the national title, we need your support.
How Your Support Helps
Our goal is to raise R60,000 to ensure our players can focus entirely on the game. Your donations will go directly toward:
R45,000 for Transport: Safe travel for 20 players from Cape Town to Johannesburg and back.
R15,000 for Accommodation & Nutrition: Ensuring the team has a place to rest and the proper food/beverages to stay competitive throughout the tournament.
Why Support Us?
"Ni neart go cur le chéile"—There is no strength without unity.
When you support the Ireland Boys, you aren't just paying for a bus ticket; you are investing in a community. You are helping 20 talented individuals from Cape Town prove that where you come from doesn't limit where you can go.
Please donate, share our story, and help us represent Cape Town with pride in JHB!
