Hey everyone! I am setting up this GoFundMe for the Hyland Family, our next-door neighbors, who experienced a devastating fire on 3/20/23 in the home they have been renting for 5 years.
The fire started just after 5:30pm, while their teenage granddaughters were home on spring break. Jackie and Daniel have been caring for their granddaughters since the passing of their daughter a year and a half ago. The girls were able to get out of the home safely, but unfortunately, one of their dogs did not make it out and another ran away during the commotion.
The house and all of their belongings were destroyed. What wasn't ruined in the fire, was damaged by the smoke and/or water. They spent the first night in their cars, as the hotel would not allow the two remaining dogs to stay. They did not have renters insurance.
Daniel is a preacher and shared an amazing message with John and me - "Adversities and challenges will always arise, but misery is a choice!" - they are choosing to focus on remaining positive! He shared his wisdom with us with a smile on his face, despite the devastation around him.
Let's do what we can to help this family get back on their feet! Any little bit will help!
Thank you!
~The Aguila Family
