Help The Hybrid Five Launch Global Music Ministry
Donation protected
We have been called to launch a global music ministry to share the love of Christ with others who are less fortunate through music. We also want to give those we reach encouragement and support to continue ministering to others through music. Our first trip, Lord willing, will be to Jinga, Uganda, in the summer of 2024. We plan to give a concert and present Christian Lamp Church with a 88-key keyboard and a portable PA system they can use to further their own music ministry for years to come.
Why? The Bible calls us to not only share the Gospel but to sing praises and worship, and we believe music is a powerful way to reach others. Music makes a strong impact, even in situations where words fall short, and it is a universal language. We have been given the gift of music, and we know that music is our way to share the Gospel. We have ministered locally in Missouri for few years, but feel the Lord is calling us to reach others on a global scale.
Who are we? We are pianist Dr. James Cockman III, his wife Erin, and The Hybrid Five, a Christian singing group of five siblings who share God’s love through a variety of musical styles, including Gospel, Blues, Bluegrass, and more. James is the group’s pianist/keyboardist and vocal coach, and he creates many of the arrangements they perform, and Erin assists with planning and the non-music details. Even though The Hybrid Five is young (currently ages 8-14), we feel the call to minister NOW, not years from now, because the Truth and encouragement are needed now more than ever before. We pray this can grow into a lifetime of global ministry for us.
We are Bible believing, non-denominational Christians. We are not sponsored by any one church, denomination, or organization. All of our performances (over the last couple of years we’ve averaged approximately 20 concerts a year) are made possible only by the grace of God and love offerings from individuals and churches who believe in the power of the message we are sharing. As such, we cannot launch this global music ministry on our own. It will take the power of God and support from many fellow believers. We pray you will prayerfully consider supporting us in this journey.
Why Uganda? We were put in contact with Christian Lamp Church about a year ago and have been building a relationship, learning about each other, and supporting each others’ ministries in prayer. We realized we have a calling to go, not just to present a concert in Jinga, but to help the local church in their own efforts to spread the Gospel. Their church started in 2013, and their focus is on preaching the Bible through crusades and revivals, door-to-door evangelism, and seminars. They have started up nine church branches, despite being very limited financially and having very few resources. Music is very important to them and is a huge part of their services and revivals, but they do not have a lot of musical equipment. We know that the encouragement and keyboard and portable PA system we give them will be used to keep building the Kingdom of Christ in their community.
Why so much money? Travel and preparations will be very expensive. There will be airfare, transportation to and from the airport, food, lodging, visas, and other expenses for all seven of us. There will also be the expense of obtaining and then flying the full-size keyboard and portable PA system, in addition to transporting our own musical instruments and equipment we will need while we are there.
We are excited to see where the Lord takes The Hybrid Five Global Music Ministry. We thank you for your prayers and support.
Blessings,
