The Diagnosis
In December of 2018 Josh went to see his doctor because he had back pain, no one was prepared for a rare cancer diagnosis. Chordoma is rare form of cancer with only a handful of specialists in the United States. The chances of a chordoma diagnosis is literally 1 in a million.
The Plan
Josh's surgeon has suggested radiation prior to surgery in an attempt to keep the cancer from spreading. The surgery will be in March and he is expected to be in the hospital for several days recovering from having four vertebra removed. He will then continue his recovery at home for the next 12+ months.
About Josh and Kayla
Josh and his wife Kayla are high school sweethearts! They were married in 2012 and now, at only 27 years old, they have already spent more than half of their lives together! They have two beautiful children, Joshua, 5, and Emily, 2.
Josh is one of the strongest, most selfless people you could ever know and is always there to give his love and support for anyone in need. Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to him. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated and will help him stay focused on beating this thing!
What the Money Will Used For:
Josh has health insurance which will cover most, but not all, of his medical bills, however he is the sole source of income for his family. Once the radiation begins he will not be able to return to work for at least a year.
Josh has been and will continue to have to travel to Baltimore, MD for treatments, surgeries, consultations, and follow-ups. Everything donated will go toward helping this young family stay in their home as well as paying for travel expenses, and medical bills.
