This is a really tough situation for me to ask for help with, but this is one of the hardest situations that life has thrown at both of us over the past eight years.

AJ and I bought our first house together over six years ago and we've lived in it ever since. We had growing health issues over the years, with no explanations whatsoever as to why we were getting worse. On top of our health, the dogs also were having health issues - mainly Boomer, who was recently diagnosed with epilepsy.

We decided to have a house inspection done and it confirmed our worst fear: mold. We have been living with 2 types of toxic mold being pulled into our HVAC system for probably the past six years we have lived here. There was also mold and extensive damage found in the crawl space, foundation, attic, bathroom, and a small amount in the kitchen.

It helps explain all of our health issues, including Boomer's, and we are now in the process of trying to become healthy again and also remediating our home. Unfortunately, that has meant leaving behind many things from our little home and having to get rid of a lot of things that cannot be salvaged.

I am honestly just asking for a little bit of help from our friends and family. I hate asking for anything, but this is an emergency that has turned our worlds upside down, with having remediation companies to our house with multiple other contractors that are needed to help make our house a healthy place to live in again. We have both had to take off time from our jobs to try and get this sorted out, and will have to continue taking time off until it is fully resolved. Remediation costs are about $13,000 for the crawl space, attic, kitchen, and bathroom mold. We're expecting an additional loss of around $10,000 in personal property, but anything that can help us get by is appreciated.
