Help the Huenefelds in Their Time of Need

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We are reaching out to you on behalf of the Huenefeld family with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits. Our beloved Eric, a father, husband, brother, and friend, has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. This news has shaken our world.

Eric and Emili are the most welcoming family and would do anything for anyone in need. They both give their lives to the service of others through their work and the way they live their lives. They have always been a source of strength and support for those around them, bringing joy and kindness into the lives of everyone they meet. Now, it's our turn to support the Huenefelds in their time of need.

Eric started experiencing cognitive changes, weight loss, and numbness but continued his regular daily activities because he didn’t want to let his family or his clients down. With the continued severity of his symptoms, Eric underwent a series of medical tests that revealed the presence of a brain tumor. The tumor is an astrocytoma, a 3.5-grade tumor, which requires immediate and aggressive treatment. We are hoping for a miracle. Eric will start chemotherapy and radiation, but at this time, there is no cure.

While we are committed to doing everything possible to ensure Eric receives the best care, the financial burden is overwhelming. The cost of medical treatments, hospital stays, medications, and additional therapies is substantial. Emili is a self-employed grief and loss counselor, and Eric is self-employed as a trauma counselor; therefore, the financial burden is even higher as Emili needs to be available to care for Eric and Benjamin, their five-year-old son. This leaves them with little to no income and without paid time off.

We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to raise $65,000 to help cover the medical expenses and associated costs. Your generous donations will directly contribute to:

- Medications and therapies

- Travel expenses for treatments
