Van Rear Ended Community Support Needed
Tax deductible
The Honor Bell Foundation needs your help! On June 18, 2024, our van was rear-ended, putting a halt to our vital mission of honoring veterans at their final services. Without a vehicle, we have missed over 250 services to date, leaving a void in the dignified farewells our veterans deserve.
Our mission cannot wait, and we are still facing delays from the insurance company. While we await their determination, we must move forward to ensure the Honor Bell can resume tolling in tribute to our veterans.
We are launching a campaign to raise the necessary funds for the replacement van. Your contributions will cover the expenses insurance will not, allowing us to continue our important work. We are deeply grateful to Phil Long Ford Chapel Hills in Colorado Springs for providing us with a van at below invoice cost, but we need your support to make this purchase a reality. As you can imagine, it is still a significant expense.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact.
Here’s an idea of expenses so far:
• Van: Purchase Price $66,620.16 – Insurance reimbursement: Unknown
• Bell / Equipment Transfer: Total Cost: $4500 Charged $1125
Replacement Slide: $????
• Branding of Van: Upwards of $3,500 - $10,000
Out of pocket expenses will near $80,000
By supporting this campaign, you are not just helping us purchase a van. You are reaffirming our collective commitment to honoring our veterans with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Anonymous donors will match up to $5,000 in contributions.
Why Your Support Matters
The Honor Bell Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that no veteran is forgotten. The tolling of the Honor Bell at final services is a profound tribute to those who have served our country. Since our first tolling on Memorial Day of 2016, we have tolled honoring nearly 6,800 veterans.
