Hi, My name is kerrie smith and I am passionate about helping make life a little easier for others.

One of the ways I'd like to do this, this year is by making sure not one person dies in the unrelenting grip of our Icy winter. I dont want one person in Ireland to lose their life because they have no where to live and so have to freeze to death out in the cold in the worst of weather conditions.

And with failure from the government to respond effectively has forced matters into our own hands, we the people must act. It is estimated that they are near 88,000 homeless people throughout the north and south of Ireland with alot viewed as effected by hidden homeless- couch surfing at friends/ relatives, some in emergency accomodation and some in temporary, and with around 500-600 permanently on the streets,change needs to happen.

We can make a difference for those who need our help most. I know many different organisations like our local food bank here in derry and clauds who feed the homeless at christmas to friends helping friends and the capuchin day centre based in dublin and helpforthehomeless in limerick. All actively working as the hands and feet for this cause and will be receiving these funds to get the homeless off the streets this christmas.
