My name is Laura Powell and I’m a student of Master Holly’s and a friend of the Holly family. On behalf of the Family Kicks Championship Martial Arts (CMA) family, and with permission from Mrs. Holly, I am creating this campaign for the Holly family as they go through the fight of their lives. Here’s what happened and why we need your support.
One afternoon, Master Holly collapsed unexpectedly from what appeared to be a sudden cardiac event. Mrs. Holly performed CPR until EMS arrived. By the time they took him in the ambulance, he had a pulse and was breathing on his own. Based on the initial labs and CT scans — which showed nothing alarming — we truly believed he would wake up and come home the next day. But instead, he remains in critical care with brain damage at this time.
Although Master Holly is in critical condition, we are a family of fighters. Mrs. Holly is doing everything in her power to advocate for him and explore every possible path forward. Family Kicks families are volunteering time, talents, and treasures to fill in the gaps and bless this family. And the exceptional instructors who make Family Kicks what it is, continue to teach with excellence day in and day out, serving not only as instructors and mentors, but also as paragons of strength and courage during this tumultuous time.
While this journey has been incredibly difficult, one thing remains certain: the passion, purpose, and heart that Master Holly poured into Family Kicks will continue to guide everything we do.
The school’s motto is "Building Champions in Life," and everything about the school points us all toward becoming the kind of family member, neighbor, co-worker, friend, and mentor that we want others to be for us. In other words, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Master Holly has been an exemplar of all that the school teaches, impacting hundreds of lives every week and playing a vital role in this community.
In order to help the Holly family during this difficult time, we’re asking for financial help to cover the following expenses:
• Medical and rehabilitation costs
• Childcare expenses
• Temporary support for daily living needs
• Unforeseen costs during recovery
Although we still don’t know much about Master Holly’s condition or what the future holds, we will provide updates on his condition, recovery progress, prayer requests, and family needs.
Thank you for joining us to assist the Holly family and the amazing school they’ve built together!
