Help our family survive tough times
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Isaac. My husband and I have both spent many years in poverty and are still trying to crawl out. We live paycheck to paycheck and have less than 100$ in savings. I am presently employed but underpaid as a full-time teacher and part-time retail cashier, and I am still going to PT as part of my recovery from a 4th required MTP surgery on my left great toe. We also moved in July to a cheaper apartment, and do not qualify for assistance programs because we are both working full-time. My job is our main source of income and I work 6-7 days a week, as does my husband, in spite of our disabilities making this challenging. He is slowly increasing his income at this full-time job, but he is still at the beginning of his career in social work, so he does not yet make much in pay. We do not have any savings to cushion us right now.
If our finances do not improve soon, we will need assistance in order to pay rent, car payments to get us to work, car insurance, renter's insurance, medical expenses, food, & gas, we need about $5,000 to cushion us. I was already forced to liquidate my state retirement this past July, tax penalties and all. I have already spoken to our creditors, community resources for rent assistance, & our property's management.
I have stretched what I can. You're my last hope. I have been homeless before and would prefer that it never happens again, especially to the rest of my family. (We live with 2 other adults, both who have disabilities, and our household bills & food, etc. is shared between the 4 of us. One is waiting on SSDI & the other is putting school on hold and looking for work. It is still very challenging to make ends meet.) Whatever you can spare, whether it's 5$ or 500$, please consider donating to help my family out.
Thank you.
