Help the Holcomb Capps Family during this time

The Holcomb/Capps family ask for your help, prayers and good thoughts! This time is very trying for mom Haley and dad Brian, and having a baby in the NICU along with other children that you have to be away from to be with the baby feels impossible.
Haley and Brian’s son Ronin was born by scheduled C-section on February 8, 2024. Unexpectedly he ended up needing to go to the NICU at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital after he was born due to low oxygen, and even though they were able to get his oxygen levels back up to normal, it was discovered that Ronin has some issues with facial asymmetry and paralysis and could not take a bottle.
Ronin has now been in the hospital for 4 weeks. During his stay at Christus Mother Frances it was decided he needed to be transferred to a higher level NICU, so on February 22 he was care flighted to Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. During his stay, he has been diagnosed with a submucous cleft palate, facial palsy, grade IV vesicoureteral reflux and they are running genetic tests to see if he might have some sort of genetic disorder. He has to be fed by a nasal feeding tube and given daily antibiotics for the kidney reflux. He will eventually have to have surgery of the cleft palate, and we will follow up on the kidney issues. It could possibly resolve itself, or he would have to have surgery at a later time to correct it.
Right now they are trying to get Ronin to eat by bottle, and he is making good progress, but the process is very slow. His facial paralysis and his cleft cause some issues with eating from a bottle, but therapy is making improvements. Right now they are waiting to determine what the next steps are for Ronin to be able to come home. The options are keep working on his bottle feeds until he is able to eat 100% of his bottles without needing the feeding tube (which can take a very long time to succeed), or to surgically implant a g-tube (g button) in his stomach where they can continue the eating therapy at home and still be able to feed him whatever he is not able to eat with the bottle. No matter what, he will still have to do some occupational therapy for the facial palsy when he gets home.
They are so thankful that Ronin is okay and has no horrible illnesses. He is so very handsome and has a great personality for being almost a month old. Haley and Brian have three other kiddos in their blended family; Maverick (11), Aiden (9) and Harper (6). Since Ronin is in Dallas, they have been traveling back and forth from Lindale to Dallas. They were able to get a room at the Dallas Ronald McDonald house thankfully, and Haley’s family is helping tremendously with caring for their children while they are in Dallas. This is an incredibly difficult time for the whole family, and Brian and Haley miss their older kids terribly!
On top of their exhausting life right now, Brian is a 90% disabled veteran who currently only gets his VA Disability as income and Haley is on unpaid maternity leave with her job. Money is very low right now anyways but with the extra unexpected expenses from gas and food to get to Dallas and back, on top of Haley’s income being cut drastically, is taking a hard toll on the family. Since he has been born it has been nonstop stress for the family. Any money collected will go towards paying for gas and food, as well as any unpaid bills that have accumulated.
If you are willing to give anything it is greatly appreciated, but please don’t feel
obligated. This is not an easy thing for either Haley or Brian to ask for, but know that any donations or good thoughts and prayers are gratefully appreciated. We all pray that they will figure out the best care for Ronin and he will be home soon and we can reunite this family.
