Rebuild Hope for the Hoffman Family

On July 25th, the Hoffmans’ home was severely damaged in a house fire. The fire began in the basement and spread to parts of the first floor, while smoke and soot quickly filled the home. Desiree, Mark, and their three children (ages 13, 14, and 21) are safe, along with their two beloved cats, who were rescued by the fire department.

The Hoffmans have lost nearly everything due to fire and smoke damage and are currently staying with relatives while they try to secure housing in their school district before classes begin in just a few weeks. Their home may need to be completely gutted before it can be lived in again.

Mark and Desiree are both hardworking parents — Mark works full-time to support the family, and Desiree is working and attending college full-time to earn her degree. Their oldest child is also working while balancing college. All three children are deeply rooted in the community, participating in public school, local theater, 4-H club, and other local events. Desiree and Mark are devoted, engaged parents who love spending time outdoors and doing activities as a family. The entire family is known for their kindness, generosity, and caring spirit. ♥️

As if the fire weren’t enough, the Hoffmans have already endured a very difficult year. One of their sons underwent open-heart surgery last year, which led to complications requiring a second open-heart surgery just months later.

The fire has added significant emotional and financial strain. In addition to losing their home and belongings, the family is now facing unexpected veterinary bills for the emergency care their cats needed — estimated between $3,000 and $4,000.

We’re asking for your support to help the Hoffmans recover from this devastating event. Donations will go toward temporary housing, vet bills, replacing essentials, school and work supplies, food, travel expenses, and filling gaps not covered by insurance — all in the effort to help them rebuild their home and stability.
