Robert William Hilliker’s (58) legacy lives on through “his girl” of 35 years, Michelle Hilliker, his daughters; Mariah Chaney (Thomas), Marryn Chaney (William), son, Merek Hilliker (Devyn Findley- known to Bob as “Lil Sis”), son, Micah Hilliker, and Pop’s favorite grandson, Tommy Ray. Bob met his Savior and was reunited with his father on July 11, 2021, with his family by his side. We know he would have preferred to enter heaven with his fashion statement: crocs, cargo shorts and cut offs.

Bob was fueled by Wegmans, ran on Dunkin, and drove Advanced Auto sales.

He began his entrepreneurial journey as an 8 year old plumber and electrician for the neighbors. He moved into automotive by age 12, working on Chevy Small Blocks, and was self employed running Bob’s Automotive Specialties by age 18. He told many stories that in his rare free time, his racing activities often ended in a police escort home for parental intervention.

He was a 3 sport Varsity Athlete: football, basketball and 3 Time Consecutive NYS Heavy Weight Wrestling Champion with 39 pins and record of 42-0.

He built and remodeled multiple homes in upstate NY, was the owner of Rev-N-Race go kart track and a home builders construction company.

He loved spending time with family and supporting their interests. He lived his life with an open hand, generously giving to anyone in need.

He had a passion to study and teach the Bible and was a perpetual student of the Word. Bob took Bible classes for over 2 decades in pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies, stopping short by 2 Gen Ed classes because in his words he “already had the meat of the courses.”

His desire to share Christ’s gift of salvation through the gospel was with the hope that all friends and family will meet him on the other side.

On June 1, Bob Hilliker was rushed to the hospital with respiratory failure. He was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia, significant lung inflammation and was placed on a ventilator. A week later, Bob's body was significantly declining on the vent and the family needed to make an immediate decision to put Bob on ECMO, facing a 50% chance of survival without it, but accompanied with severe risks.
As of July 3 (5 weeks in) the family was informed that Bob had acquired a blood infection (sepsis).

Bob is continuing to fight every day for his life! Their oldest son, Merek, has taken the lead of continuing to run Bob's automotive business, of 40 years, to keep the business strong and bridge the financial burden brought on by Bob's absence.  With Bob unable to work, Michelle is spread thin  between work shifts herself, financially trying to keep the business going, visiting Bob in ICU, and caring for their youngest son, while meeting the everyday demands of life. Any financial contribution would help ease the financial burden this family faces during this extremely difficult time.

If you would like to follow along with Bob's recovery, a Caring Bridge Site has been created with detailed updates.
