Help the Hilgert Family Rebuild After Flood
Donation protected
Family and Friends John, Alexis, and Sebastian Hilgert need our help.
On August 5th, the Lake Manatee Dam was "strategically released," John and Alexis were unprepared for this. When they were rescued from their home, the water was up to the front door, and all vehicles, yard power equipment, the first floor of the garage, etc, were underwater. Many items were taken by the water such as the chicken shed where their food, etc was stored. The water rose so fast that they are pretty sure the chickens have been lost, as well. The power has been out since Monday and is scheduled to be off until at least the 10th...so all perishable items will need to be thrown out. This is to assist them in getting back to some sense of normalcy: Perishable groceries, repair of utilities infrastructure (ie: the well, etc), clean up, covering other costs that have arisen from this catastrophe such as a rental car to get Sebastian to and from the bus stop.
About them:
John is 26 years retired United States Army, having been medically retired in 2019 and joining the Tampa Rough Riders the same year, Lexi is a 13 year Air Force Veteran and member of Krewe of Sea SaveYours, and Sebastian is going into 7th grade, is active in Scouting and Hockey. This family has given so much to Country and Community and I think this is a time we can pull together and give back to them
