Hi - I am Jim Monaco from Broomfield Colorado. Many of you may know me from my involvement with remote control sailplane activities in the United States. You may have seen in the news recently that the most destructive fire in Colorado history ripped through the towns of Superior and Louisville. One of our club members lost everything in that fire. The Hesselius family home was destroyed, and nothing was salvaged. They fortunately escaped the inferno and now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. Dan was one of the early members of the the Rocky Mountain Soaring Association and was active in the club as an officer and an F3B WC pilot. Dan has been a modeler since childhood and had a large collection of sailplanes including many he built as a youngster. All of which were lost. His son Dennis has carried on the R/C Sailplane tradition and Dennis was a junior member of the United States 2019 F5J Soaring Team representing the USA in Trnava Slovakia.

While the need is enormous, I am hoping we can raise a little bit of money to help the family and support our fellow modeler in need. All donations will go directly to the family to help with their short term needs while they make a plan to move forward. Thanks for anything you can contribute.
