Help the one who helped Matt when he was in need.

Friends, family, and our community, as many of you may already know, on Monday, July 28th, a horrific mass shooting event resulted in tragedy at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV. Matthew Sitler, our amazing son, nephew, and friend, was struck multiple times and has spent the last few days recovering in the intensive care unit at the hospital. But one of the reasons we are able to observe his recovery and see Matt again is because of the courage of a young man named Kade Macedo.

After Matt and his friends were struck in the valet of the hotel, Kade, a valet at the hotel, potentially obstructed the path of the shooter with a vehicle to protect Matt, and got out of the vehicle while he thought bullets were still flying to stay with Matt and keep him calm until Matt's friends arrived.

When asked about the situation, Kade mentioned how he wasn't coming forward for recognition or attention. His act of bravery and selflessness made a difference in Matthew's survival and we want to gather our community to help him in any way we can.

Kade and his fiancée are expecting a baby soon, we want to help support Kade and his family while he takes the next steps in his life while he deals with the memory of these horrific events. The least we can do is come together to help provide some stability for this young man as he put his life in harm's way to help a wounded stranger.
