Hi, my name is Bridgett Hamstra, and I am fundraising for my dear friend and colleague, Erica Hendrick. Erica is a devoted wife and mother of two beautiful children. Erica's breast cancer journey began on Memorial Day when she noticed a lump. In the following weeks, she had a mammogram and a biopsy. On August 1st, Erica's fears became a reality when they explained that she had breast cancer: Triple-negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Since meeting with the surgeon, Erica has undergone eight difficult rounds of chemo with eight more weeks to go. She will then have surgery followed by radiation. The side effects have been grueling, making it impossible for Erica to work as she struggles to keep up with the day-to-day activities of a busy household. Erica is the most generous and caring person, already discussing her plans to give back to others who will someday be in her shoes. No person should have to sacrifice so much, and all the while, Erica does it with a smile on her face. I know the stress of their mounting expenses weighs heavily on Erica, and that, in turn, is weighing heavily on those who love her. Any help you can provide is deeply appreciated.
