Tom Heinly is a hardworking, loving, devoted father of two young adults embarking on their early adult life journey. In a time where his kids need their dad more than ever, Tom has had an unfortunate progression of his advanced stage colon cancer.
Tom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer about 3 years ago, but you wouldn’t even have known he was sick. He continued doing all of the things he loved, up until June of this year when his condition took a turn for the worse.
Over the course of three months, Tom has had multiple surgeries to place an external biliary drain and has had a feeding tube installed to bypass a total obstruction in his stomach. As a result of these traumas to his body, he has suffered extreme weight loss, and doesn’t have the ability to take medicine orally. He has remained in the hospital for months while enduring these difficult life altering events.
The hospital has recently informed Tom and his family that there is not much more that can be done for him there. His oncologist is willing to give him another round of chemo as long as he is able to withstand it, and Tom desperately hopes to receive this treatment for a fighting chance to improve his health.
In order for this to happen, Tom and his family need your support in funding a home healthcare team that can provide him the services he needs to continue building strength, and begin this necessary treatment.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, support, and love during this difficult time. Please keep the Heinly family in your thoughts and prayers.
