On Sunday April 7th, Jake went into work for his midday shift of switching out train cars for the mill. Everything was going smoothly until one split second decision led to a horrific accident. His foot slipped between two train cars and was crushed as the cars made their connection. He was able to release the cars and with the help of a mill employee who was nearby, call 911. After emergency surgery was performed, he was sent home where he will spend the next few months out of work. There is also the possibility of having follow up surgeries so the road to recovery will be a long one. As thankful as we are that Jake's injuries were not worse, it still will take a devastating toll on his family's financial future.
Let's come together in support of the Heimerls during this uncertain time of healing and ensure that they have more than enough love, prayers, and financial support to make it through.
