Help the Hayward Family Through Ed's Healing

Greetings from the Hayward family.

On August 15, 2024, the unthinkable interrupted our daily routine.

I was taking our youngest son, Xavier, to college when we received a call from our oldest son, EJ, that Ed was not feeling well. Xavier helped EJ find a hospital close to where Ed was located. Ed leaves for work at 6:00 a.m. and was already in Longmont, CO. After getting Xavier settled in his residence hall, we got the call that shook our lives.

Ed had a stroke that morning, and if it were not for him posting his symptoms on Facebook, I don't know that I would be asking for this type of support. I am so thankful that God had Ed in HIS arms that day. I am also grateful that we have the medical insurance to help us cover such an emergency. We are unsure of when Ed will be able to return to work, which is why this GoFundMe is being created.

Ed will begin physical therapy this week to strengthen his right leg. He was blessed that his speech was not impaired and that he regained strength in his right arm quickly. He says it feels like his right leg weighs 60 pounds, and the headaches are causing him pain daily. He is working hard to manage the pain as best he can. And if you know Ed, he is STUBBORN as an Ox and will return to his new normal as quickly as possible.

Why do we need support? I cannot manage all of our household expenses on my own (rent, two car payments, utilities, etc.). I also understand that many of us have financial struggles right now. It is hard for Ed and me to ask for support, and now is not the time for us to be quiet.
