The Harvey Family have always been the first to step in and help whenever and whoever has a need. This time they need help! Medical expenses and everyday living is what they need help with. Ron is currently having health issues and the cost is enormous! The funds are needed immediately due to the fact that he doesn't have insurance. We know that God is with them at this time of need and your financial support is greatly appreciated.
My sweet friend Tammy created this account and as we have talked about how amazing the response has been and how people have been sharing and people we do not even know have given to help my family. So we felt this story should be expanded and questions answered with the whole story so here goes:
About 4 months ago my husband Ron started having digestion problems (I won't go into details). He went to his doctor a couple of times and was told to take some over the counter stuff to clear him out which did not work. I pressed the issue and we got him in to see a gastroenterologist and they did some xrays and did not find blockages so they scheduled a colonoscopy. The day of the colonoscopy they discovered his heart had afib and scheduled him with a cardiologist. They found 3 polyps (2 of which had cancer). 2 days later the cardiologist saw him and said medicine will fix that. A week later he began bleeding when he had bowel movements (I know too much info) and of course ignored it because he thought it was part of the process. By the end of the second day I found out because we woke up to a pool of blood on the bed. I took him to the ER and he ended up in ICU for 5 days. He had lost half the blood in his body and had almost died. Got him through that and the following week had a follow up with the gastro who informed us that his cancer had crossed into a precarious place in the polyp and it was possible it had spread but they could only tell by removing a piece of the colon and lymph node and he would need surgery so we scheduled an appointment with the cardiologist to be sure (due to the afib) he could do the surgery. They did a battery of tests and the cardio informed us he was concerned because Ron's heart was very weak and he wanted to do a heart cath - on that same day Ron was laid off from work and would lose his insurance. So we head into the heart cath to find out that Ron's heart is only working at 20% and could stop at any moment. (What?! He is only 57). They have fitted him with a life vest (wearable defibrillator) which he will wear 24/7 so if his heart stops it will immediately shock him. In the meantime we have enrolled in COBRA (which is more expensive than insurance but since we have met the deductible for this year its the best option). We are preparing for surgery and then they will begin work on the heart. Needless to say this is a lot to process but God is faithful and good and we know there is a greater purpose at work! Your prayers, love, and support are greatly appreciated.
We intend to change the gofundme goal as the needs change. Although the gofundme account does not show us meeting the goal God has been faithful to provide for everything as we need it - just like Manna!
